A big difference from other toothbrushes. July 12, 2010 John Fenico (NEW YORK, NY, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was hesitant to spend the amount of money I considered expensive for an electric toothbrush. I figured what is the difference between this model and the lower priced models? They all clean your teeth, right? Wrong!! This model cleans more signifcantly than any other model that I have previously used. After two weeks of use, my teeth were whiter and my mouth felt much cleaner. The brush has some nice touches such as the electronic head sanitizer, as well as multiple functions (Clean Teeth, Clean Gums, Massage, Quick Brush, etc.). This product is well worth the price for the quality of work it perfoms on your teeth and gums. It definitely improves overall dental hygiene more than any other product. It actually makes brushing a more pleasurable experience. I have been using this brush for over three weeks, and the novelty has not worn off. The only question I have is regarding the products durability. Will the battery last for a few years? My previous lower end Sonicare brush(Elite Series) lasted over 5 years. I would expect to receive greater longevity from this product.
The Best Toothbrush... Ever! July 7, 2010 Stephan (Milpitas, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In the past I've always used the traditional toothbrushes I buy in a bulk pack from Costco. I have sensitive gums so every time I brush, the sink is full of blood. My father talked me into purchasing the Sonicare and I must say it is one of the best purchases I've made. Not only is it gentle on my gums, I can instantly feel the difference, especially in the "hard to reach" areas in the back of the mouth. After two weeks of using the Sonicare, my gums stopped bleeding entirely. There is a "Sensitive" setting on the brush for people with sensitive gums. The UV sanitizer is useless to me because I don't believe anyone shares their toothbrushes these days. Just pop in a different brush... It's nice if you think it actually makes your toothbrush cleaner but I don't believe it is necessary. However, I do use the sanitizer once a week. What the heck, I paid for the darn thing! My only regret is that I should've purchased a Sonicare toothbrush a long time ago.
Switched per my dentist July 7, 2010 Chip L (Little Rock, AR) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My dentist suggested I switch from a manual toothbrush to the Sonicare. After about three months, I can tell a difference.
The sonicare does a better job at removing stains and giving a good "clean" feel. The only downside is that it takes some getting used to. It feels like a small earthquake in my mouth and really vibrates hard. If you buy this toothbrush, be prepared to give a good week or two to get used to the vibrations.
The brushheads don't seem to last very long. I went through one in less than three months, and the second one is already starting to wear. So you have to be prepared for a pretty big investment in brush heads after purchasing this toothbrush.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who is less than diligent with flossing, or if you have problems with staining in between dentist appointments. Just be prepared for a vigorous brushing.
NICE July 7, 2010 Edward A. Rockinger (GR, MI) This is my 1st Sonic purchasem and Im completly happy with it, it does what it's suppose to do and then some. been usin nw for about a month, i thought it was reasonable price on Amazon. great deal. I wrk out of the country half the year, so I love the travel charger and hard case.
Great toothbrush, will never go back July 3, 2010 Phil I purchased this toothbrush about 3 months ago here, I was a bit weary of the price since i had never used a sonic toothbrush before, but I figured it was worth a shot. I have been more than happy with this toothbrush. My teeth have never felt cleaner.
The UV light works well, it also adds an added benefit of helping the brush dry quickly. The gumcare mode is really the main one I use, it combines the 2 minute clean with a 1 minute cycle for your gums. The 1 minute gum cycle has it's own quadpacer as well, which is kind of neat.
My only partial complaint is that the brush heads do need to be replaced quicker than a normal manual toothbrush, but this was something I expected going in. The head gets much more wear and tear with how fast the brush moves. I got about 2 months out of the head before it needed to be changed. Of course if you think about the extra 1 minute gum cycle adding an extra 1/3 time to the brush cycle, it kind of makes sense that the brush would wear out an extra 1/3 faster, i.e. 2 months instead of the typical 3.
Of course if your looking at this brush the head replacement is probably pretty trivial seeing as how, well, if your willing to spend this money on a brush, purchasing replacement heads should not be an issue.
I definitely will never go back. I was completely sold on this brush within the first couple days. Great product Philips!!!
